What is the benefit of using a valve when extracting ? Opposed to letting butane freely flow thru the extraction tube and thru the micron screen.

If you add a valve to the top and bottom of your column, you can close them and let the butane soak for a couple minutes. This will increase your yield, but be sure not to soak for too long or you may pull out excess undesirables such as chlorophyll or fats/lipids.
