The biggest difference in the Orthrus and Athena is how the extracted oil and started biomass are emptied after extraction. The Orthrus has to be broken down in separate pieces to empty out the biomass from the column and the oil from the base. The Athena has the column mounted to the rack and base is freestanding so it is easier to empty. The coulmn can be emptied of spent biomass by placing a bag beneath it and pushing from the top. The yield will be similar with both units, but the Athena will save a little time between runs.
