Ultraclear and most of our media's except carbon are not compatible with alcohols and require the extract to be dissolved in a nonpolar solvent like heptane, pentane, butane, or propane using the appropriate equipment. When using a Bucher funnel inside a fume hood heptane or pentane can be utilized.
